BIOGRAPHY OF Camp Co-Director HORACE SHIELDS

NCAA Division I Official for 21 seasons. Grew up and officiated in the Oakland area for 30+ Years Passionate about mentorship, development, and community

Born and raised in Oakland, California, Horace got his start officiating local high school games and CYO leagues, where he quickly found his passion for the craft. His natural leadership and drive for excellence helped him climb the ranks, eventually earning a spot at the Division I College level where he’s been a respected figure for greater than 21 seasons.

NCAA Division I Official for 19 seasons, Native of Oakland, CA – has officiated for over 25+ years, Focused on growth, access, and opportunity

Courtney Holmes is a respected NCAA Division I referee and one of the co-directors of Bay Area Prospects Camp. Known for his calm presence, strong court awareness, and commitment to the game, Courtney brings years of experience and a genuine passion for helping others grow in the officiating profession.

Hailing from Oakland, California, Courtney began his officiating journey working high school and CYO games throughout the East Bay.
